General Information

The American Business School was established in 1985 and is one of the first English-speaking business schools in France modeled on American undergraduate business education. ABS has established links with several renowned American universities. Since its inception, ABS has attracted students from all around the world and has evolved from a uniquely Franco-American vision to a completely global approach to business education. More than 50% of the students come from outside France and represent close to 40 nationalities.

In 1995, the American Business School joined IGS (Institut de Gestion Sociale), one of France ’s most dynamic private non-profit universities, an innovator in the field of practical business education. Today, IGS has over 700 alumni working in over 22 countries in marketing, finance, import/export and sales positions.

Location

ABS is on the the Parodi Campus of IGS (Institut de Gestion Sociale) near the picturesque Canal St. Martin. This modern campus comprises several buildings which house 10 different schools and over 3000 students. To satisfy both collective and individual student needs, the Campus provides a reading room, cafeteria, amphitheaters, computer laboratories and Internet facilities.

Paris and its region is one of the major business centers in Europe and the headquarters for many multinational companies are located here. The American Business School students benefit from the proximity of these firms for internships, company visits and corporate presentations.

The Student Council organizes ABS and inter-school social events to provide students with social and cultural activities in addition to their coursework.

Special assistance is given to students from abroad to help find reasonably-priced accommodations through ABS. Housing options include shared or private, furnished or unfurnished apartments and home stays. Meals are available in the neighborhood adjacent to the campus.
