Student Professional Organizations
Importance of Your Involvement in SPOs
Our student professional organizations (SPOs) are the foundation of our professional development program. Each major is represented by a student organization that connects you to students and faculty in your discipline and provides networking opportunities with successful alumni and executives in the field.
An SPO is an interest group that focuses on a specific industry or career. SPOs are student or campus chapters of "real world" professional associations/organizations. SPO chapters have strong ties to the business community and provide a friendly environment to network, build relationships and develop your soft skills (e.g., interpersonal skills, teamwork, initiative, etc). Student organizations also afford access to top-notch internships, co-ops and permanent placement.
Hiring companies seek leaders, and through SPO involvement, not only will you shine as a leader, you will significantly impact your ability to find a meaningful career.
Student organization meetings take place on Monday, Wednesday or Fridays from 12:00pm - 12:50pm during the Fox School free period. Visit The Fox School - Student Professional Organizations for a complete listing of Fox SPOs.
