Dr. John A. McClendon

John McClendon has over twenty-five years of demonstrated excellence in a broad array of human resource management activities. After a successful career in HR management at International Paper Company, Dr. McClendon joined the Fox School where he has taught courses at the undergraduate, MBA, executive MBA, and Ph.D. levels, and conducted seminars ranging from international HR to labor-management relations. His research activities focus on HR outsourcing, compensation strategies, and labor-management relations.
Since 1993, his publications have appeared in Journal of Labor Research, Industrial and Labor Relations Review, Employee Rights and Responsibilities Journal, Journal of Management, Human Resource Management Journal, and Personnel Psychology, among several others. An experienced speaker and honored teacher, Dr. McClendon was awarded the 1993 Andrisani-Frank Award for Excellence in Teaching, the 1999 Musser Award for Leadership in Teaching and 2005 MBAMS Teacher of the Year. In 2006 he was awarded the Temple University's Great Teacher Award.
