Dr. Mercedes Delgado
Assistant Professor
General and Strategic Management

Dr. Mercedes Delgado has been appointed as an Assistant Professor of General and Strategic Management. She was a Visiting Scholar at Kellogg School at Northwestern University, and is now a Post-doctoral Fellow under Professor Michael Porter in the Institute for Strategy and Competitiveness at the Harvard Business School. She is also a Post-doctoral Fellow in NBER. Dr. Delgado received her PhD in Business Economics from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid. Her field of expertise is international business, business strategy, regional and urban economics, industrial organization, and applied econometrics. Her specific area of interest is industry clusters. Dr. Delgado has published The Global Competitiveness Report and has several working papers. She has presented at various regional and national conferences. Dr. Delgado’s paper, “Do Clusters Really Matter for Companies’ Competitive Strategies? Evidence at the Country Level,” was nominated for the Haynes Prize for the Most Promising Scholar Award.
