About the Competition

The Philadelphia Chapter of the Turnaround Management Association is pleased to sponsor the third annual Corporate Renewal Case Competition in Spring 2008.  A $1,500 cash prize will be awarded to the winning student at a special event at Temple University's Center City campus.   The second place winner will receive a $500 cash prize.

Eligibility

Undergraduate and MBA or MS students currently enrolled at the Fox School of Business are eligible to compete. 

 

Criteria

Students are asked to respond to the turnaround case study presented for the competition.  The entry should be in the form of a memorandum to the company’s board of directors from a turnaround management professional.  The submission should be no longer than 10 pages, including exhibits, if appropriate.  The papers will be evaluated using established judging criteria set by TMA. Judges will look for several elements in each paper, including:

  • Well-written, clearly constructed and thorough treatment of the subject
  • Depth and quality of analysis
  • Please refer to special instructions in the TMA case competition packet

 

Guidelines

  •  The submission deadline is Friday, April 4, 2007 by 5 p.m.  Please submit your analysis electronically to the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Institute via emai:  iei@temple.edu
  • Winner will be announced on Thursday, April 26, 2007
  • Cases and instructions can be picked up at 201 Speakman Hall, Main Campus or 1515 Market Street, 6th Floor, Temple University Center City Campus to pick up a copy of the case.
