Financial Times NewspaperPHILADELPHIA—November 3, 2008 — Temple University’s Fox School of Business has been ranked among the top 20 Executive MBA (EMBA) programs in the U.S. by the Financial Times in its 2008 rankings.  The Fox School and The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania, were the only Philadelphia-area executive MBA programs in the top 20.

This is the seventh consecutive year that Fox’s EMBA program has been ranked by Financial Times, a London-based publication.

Dean of the Fox School, M. Moshe Porat said, “We are pleased that the Financial Times has again recognized the excellence of our EMBA program." Being ranked by this prestigious publication is a testament to the exceptional quality of our students, faculty and staff.”

The Financial Times also ranked the Fox EMBA program 51st in the world. In addition, the program was recognized among the top 10 in the U.S. and top 30 in the world for “Career Progress” and among the top 15 in the world for “percentage of female students.”

“These rankings are excellent news for our stakeholders, particularly our alumni, students and sponsors, as the value of their educational investment continues to increase,” said Valerie Liepis, director of the Fox School Executive MBA program.

The overall Financial Times EMBA ranking rated how the class of 2005 alumni fared in terms of career progression and post-EMBA salaries, student satisfaction and the overall strength of the program as measured by faculty research and the global perspective of the school and its students.

“An EMBA program is a significant investment, especially in today’s economy,” said Sandra Sokol, interim assistant dean for the MBA and MS programs at Fox.  “We are pleased that the Financial Times has concluded what our current students and alumni already know—a Fox EMBA is an excellent investment.”

Students also appreciate the flexibility of the Fox EMBA.  Classes are held on alternating Saturdays plus one Friday per month at the Desmond Conference Center in Malvern, Pa.

The Fox School of Business is the largest, most comprehensive business school in the greater Philadelphia region and among the largest in the world, with more than 6,000 students, 145 full-time faculty and 50,000 alumni.
