PHILADELPHIA—April 2, 2007 U. S. News & World Report ranked the MBA program at the Fox School of Business at Temple University among the top programs in the nation, and in the top 25 for public institutions in the nation, in their 2008 rankings released today.

This year The Fox MBA climbed seven spots to #51 in the nation, and over the past four years, the School has risen 32 places in the publication’s annual ranking of top business schools. Fox also placed among the top 25 public institutions in the U.S.

In addition to Fox’s overall ranking, the School was recognized for the 5th consecutive year for its strength in International Business rising to 14th in the nation. Since 2003, Fox graduate International Business Programs have been ranked in U.S. News & World Report’s top 25. The School’s Healthcare Management Program rose to 28th in the nation.

Regionally, The Fox School and The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania were the only Philadelphia-area MBA programs ranked by U.S. News and World Report this year.

“We are pleased that U.S. News & World Report has recognized our MBA program and our strength in international business and health care management. Being ranked so highly by this prestigious publication is a testament to the exceptional quality of our students, faculty, staff and alumni and the great value of a Fox MBA,” said M. Moshe Porat, dean of The Fox School.

“The dramatic increases in our admissions standards and the rigor of our MBA curriculum are producing outstanding graduates. We are excited to see the perceptions of corporate recruiters confirming that reality,” said Robert F. Bonner, assistant dean of MBA and MS programs.

The Fox School’s strength in International Business placed the School at 14th in the nation for its International Business graduate programs tied with Stanford University and the Kellogg School at Northwestern University.

“The high ranking of The Fox School in international business results from our world-class faculty, a curriculum that is geared to produce globally competent graduates, our prestigious Center for International Business Education and Research (CIBER), and our internationally recognized Journal of International Management,” said Arvind Phatak, executive director of The Fox School’s Institute for Global Management Studies (IGMS) and its Center for Business Education and Research (CIBER).

Along with offering a one-year tri-continent International MBA Program, which takes students around the globe through rotations in Mumbai, Paris, Tokyo and an optional trip to Shanghai, Fox embeds international business opportunities across its MBA programs. In the School’s two programs for working professional—the Professional (part-time) MBA and Executive MBA program—students participate in a global immersion experience. Last year students traveled to China; this year students traveled to Chile and Argentina and met with U.S. multinational companies, such as Ford and IBM as well as regional companies such as Coldeco, Concha y Torra and Banco Central de Chile.

Among Healthcare Management Programs, Fox moved to 28th in the nation, up from 33rd in the last ranking. The national and international reputations of Fox School’s Healthcare Management faculty as well as the strength of the MBA program are the primary reasons for this increase.

The U.S. News Rankings are determined from a survey of recruiters, deans and MBA program directors and from admissions and placement data supplied by schools.

Temple University’s Fox School of Business is the largest, most comprehensive business school in the greater Philadelphia region and among the largest in the world, with almost 6,000 students, 150 full-time faculty members and 50,000 alumni.

For the third consecutive year, the Financial Times ranked The Fox School’s MBA among the Top 10 programs in the U.S. for “Value for Money,” and as one of the Top 10 programs among public urban universities in the U.S.

This year Financial Times also cited the Fox MBA as 47th in the U.S. for its three-year average ranking.  Also, recently U.S. News and World Report ranked Fox School’s undergraduate Risk, Management and Insurance program in the Top 5 in the U.S. and its undergraduate International Business program in the Top 10 in the U.S.

Entrepreneur magazine and Princeton Review jointly ranked The Fox School’s undergraduate Entrepreneurship program in the Top 5 in the U.S. and its graduate Entrepreneurship program in the Top 10. The Fox School of Business is accredited by AACSB International (The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business).
