Parents

The Fox School Honors Program has always enjoyed strong relationships with parents of our current students. It is recognized that parents play an important role in their student's decisions about the university they attend and the educational and personal goals they set. The honors program offers a variety of easy ways that parents can keep in touch with their students such as sending a "finals care package" or even a birthday cake to celebrate their birthday.

Frequently Asked Questions

How does the Fox School help my child get a job or internship in the business field?

The Fox School integrates professional development into the curriculum and provides unique programs to help students find a job and build a career.

It's why we've established a Center for Student Professional Development
(CSPD)
that links The Fox School with the business community. CSPD coordinates a wide range of programs to help students develop professional skills, attitudes, and ethics, and choose a meaningful, rewarding career. The Honors Program along with CSPD sponsors events such as a Dress For Success Fashion Show, resume workshops, etiquette luncheons and mock interviews to help our students develop the "soft skills" they will need in the working world.

What leadership opportunities are there at Temple University?

Temple University has a lot of opportunities for students to get involved, gain leadership experience, and contribute to communities outside of campus.
Temple has over 120 student organizations administered through Temple University Office of Student Activities. The Student Activities Office provides students with the necessary resources to form a student group, program planning tools, and avenues to learn and network with students from all over the world. Also, the Business Honors Student Association is a wonderful organization for students to get involved with and become leaders early in their college careers.

What student government opportunities are there at Temple University?

Temple Student Government is the representative body of student leaders who have shown an interest in the vision, desires, concerns, and education of its Temple students. TSG serves as the umbrella organization, which provides a variety of services. Our services include consultation on student issues, organization of activities, academic support, community programming, funding of registered organizations, and a positive atmosphere.

When should students get involved?

It is best for a student to start getting involved as early as possible, preferably during their freshman year. This will provide them with a richer campus experience and early networking skills. However, in order for the student to manage his or her time effectively, they should not get involved with too many organizations at the same time. They should find two organizations that they can be extremely dedicated to and then make adjustments to that number as they get adjusted and gain experience.

What will my child receive by graduating from the business honors program?

Honors does not require additional courses, it replaces regular business classes with classes in the Honors Program. Upon completing a certain number of courses, a student may receive a program certificate. Once the student has completed honors, their transcript will indicate this, and therefore make this information available to employers, graduate and professional schools admissions, etc.
