Moshe M. Porat, Dean of the Fox School of Business
- What Jobs have you held in your lifetime?
I began my career as an Economic Consultant. Thereafter I held the following positions: Chief Economist, Deputy General Manager, and Deputy Chair. My tenure at Temple began as a Professor in the Risk, Insurance and Healthcare Management Department followed by Department Chair and now Dean of the Fox School of Business
- What movie could you watch over and over?
Patton, Midway, Gone with the Wind
- Where have you lived?
I was born in Poland and also lived in Israel before coming to the United States.
- What are your favorite sports teams?
Temple Owls!! Eagles, Sixers
- What are your favorite T.V. shows?
60 minutes, 20/20, Dancing with the Stars
- What foreign places have you traveled to?
One of my passions in life is traveling to atypical places such as the Galapagos Islands, Tibet, Africa, Vietnam, Korea, China, Russia, Australia, India, and the Middle East.
- What is your favorite vacation spot?
I enjoy vacationing in southern France in a place called Dordogne Valley.
- What websites do you visit daily?
I typically visit Yahoo and Ynet.
- What are your favorite foods?
I favor Indian and Japanese cuisine.
- What is your favorite Philly restaurant?
Four Seasons
- What do you enjoy doing in your leisure time?
In my leisure time I enjoy relaxing with family and friends, reading, watching movies, sports (bicycling), and traveling.
- What is the coolest thing you have ever done?
I have been rock climbing in Montana, taken a hot air balloon ride, and went white water rafting along with a mule ride down the Grand Canyon.
- If you could eat dinner with one person, living or dead, who would they be?
I would enjoy sitting down to dinner with Einstein, Bill Gates, and Warren Buffet.
- What is your favorite quote?
I live by the motto of “Rebound”. Everything in life, both good and bad, transcends from our ability too maneuver with the good and past the bad. Rebounding gives us the ability to grow as individuals.
- What is your favorite toy growing up?
A scooter
