Job Description

We have an immediate need for an Assistant Web Designer at Web & Media Development at the Fox School of Business and Management. The candidate must be proficient and effective in using CSS, XHTML, Dreamweaver MX 2004 and Fireworks MX 2004. Our environment is fast paced, and is a very busy web design shop. We are looking for someone with web design experience with an eye for good design. Please provide URLs of your work to be considered. The position is open only for students.

Essential Job Functions

  • Maintain web pages for departments, faculty and centers
  • Train and assist faculty and administration on web publishing
  • Provide technical support for any web related issues to Fox students, Student Organizations, Academic Departments and Centers
  • Create and edit graphics for new and existing web pages
  • Provide technical support for Contribute MX users at Fox
  • Install and troubleshoot any content management issues with Contribute users
  • Apply templates to existing web pages.
  • Create new web pages using approved template.

Non-essential Job Functions

  • Weekly back up of Web pages, Graphics and web folders
  • Scanning photos, graphics as needed
  • Dynamic web page development with ASP or PHP

Requirements

  • Knowledge of web usability and web industry standards.
  • Proficiency with Dreamweaver web development software.
  • Familiarity with cascading style sheets.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Extremely capable to work on multiple tasks at one time and meet difficult deadlines.
  • Emphasis on quality assurance and ability to troubleshoot problems.
  • Knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, Fireworks, XHTML, CSS and knowledge of Section 508.

Other Skills/Abilities

  • Working in MAC & Windows environments
